Saffil Automotive has developed a family of support
mat, end cone insulation and wall insulation products under the
registered tradename Ecoflex®.
The Ecoflex solution is a non-intumescent (non-expanding)
substrate support mat for use in catalytic converter and diesel
particulate filters. The Ecoflex manufacturing process is fully
flexible and can manufacture a product to a specific basis weight
to exactly meet the demands of the application.
These new products have been carefully designed to
operate over the wide range of temperatures experienced in gasoline
and diesel engine emission control systems.
What is Ecoflex?
- Substrate Support System used in catalytic converters
to hold the ceramic substrate in place and not damage the often
fragile ceramic substrate.
- Ecoflex mats are Non-intumescent (non-expanding)
- Organically bound mat using our standard binder
technology or the new novel LB binder technology
- Manufactured using Saffil High Alumina fibres (Ecoflex
200, Ecoflex 200LB) or Saffil M-Fil fibres (Ecoflex 200M, Ecoflex
200M-LB, Ecoflex 200M-X1) – giving class leading high temperature
performance
